[09:21] <sebastien_st.frusquin> The Chimera being short on powergrid doesn't even fit with the tradition of Caldari ships being notoriously tight on CPU
[16:02] <tinkerhell> The thing that makes no sense to me now is that a shield repping carrier doesnt even have the range to be in optimal when repairing a large pos tower
[16:02] <tinkerhell> is this intentional?
[16:03] <xttz> Probably, it helps them phase starbases out quicker if you can't repair them
[16:04] <xttz> Carrier V should (just) be in optimal, right?
[16:05] <tinkerhell> no
[16:05] <tinkerhell> especially as faction towers have even larger shields
[16:05] <tinkerhell> with a normal tower you are just in optimal if you are literally a slither away from the shield
[16:08] <xttz> faction towers have more shield hp, not a larger forcefield
[16:09] <xttz> as it happened I logged off my carrier V nid in a pos last night, let me double check
[16:11] <xttz> yeah, even though the forcefield radius says 30km you can lock the tower from ~25km
[16:12] <xttz> so with Carrier V you have about 1-2km to play with, a bit more if you use meta remote reps
[16:21] <tinkerhell> ill check again tonight, maybe i was drunk
[16:27] <xttz> Keep in mind the edge of the forcefield is a different distance depending on which ship you're flying. Frigates are ~29km from the tower when locking it but caps are ~25km due to the model size
[16:30] <tinkerhell> i didnt have the pos pass entered, would that have made a difference then?
[16:36] <xttz> it could, only the center of the ship counts as being inside the forcefield so you could move partly inside for a bit more range
[16:46] <tinkerhell> still seems a bit poo that you need max skills to be in optimal for a boring actvity of pos repping, and pos's are going to be around for a while yet
